Your church leaders work hard behind the scenes to make sure that everything at St George's runs smoothly. We are currently in the process of updating some of our processes and procedures and wanted to inform you of a few important changes:

1)  This website is your best source of up to date information about the parish. Not sure, for example, if the pandemic has forced us to cancel services again? Check the website.  If you haven't already, please also sign up for our newletter which we send out once a week.

2) The work we do together as a parish costs money!  We have a number of ways for you to contribute financially to the life of the parish including our Sunday offering at in person services,  regular automatic deposits from your bank account,  and now online giving via this website. Just click the "Give" tab to begin.  This system allows us to provide a wider range of giving options and will also greatly streamline the accounting work we have to do to track and receipt those donations.

3) Did you know? St George's is a registered Canadian charity.  This means that when you donate to our parish using any of the methods mentioned above, you will receive a charitable giving receipt that you can claim on your taxes.   It also means that we must abide by the rules and regulations established by the CRA for charities.

4) Flowers for the Altar.  We know that for some people, providing flowers for a Sunday service is an important way to remember important dates like the anniversary of the death of a loved one.  We have recently updated our processes to ensure we are acting in compliance with the Canada Revenue Agency's guidelines for these sorts of activities.   From now on, if you would like to have memorial flowers on a Sunday, here is the process you need to follow:

a) Call the church to let us know which Sunday you are planning to have flowers in  the church.

b) Order your flowers from the florist of your choice and arrange for delivery.  You will need to pay the florist directly for the flowers and either have them  delivered on Sunday morning or bring them with you to church.  No donation  receipts will be issued for flowers.

If you have any questions about these updates, please contact us and let us know. We're happy to help!
