Greetings, St. George’s

As autumn approaches, vacation time is nearly over and it is time to return to our shared work. Although many of us are retired, we are preparing for important ministry in the life of our parish. A few things are already underway, with more to come.

Rev. Wilson has returned from vacation and will preside at Holy Eucharist this Sunday.

Fence

We have been discussing the backyard fence area for some time, and vestry has agreed to install a fence along the east side of the back property. The fencing will run from the back lane to just beyond the gas meter and new air conditioning unit to help protect this equipment. We still need to decide whether to add gravel or fill to level the back area, which is used only for limited parking. The fence will be built on Saturday, September 5.

Parking Lot

We are once again seeing vehicles in our parking lot, especially on Sunday mornings. We have a contract with a towing company and signage posted, but there are criteria we must follow before requesting a tow. If you notice a vehicle parked for more than a couple of days, please let someone on vestry know so they can contact David for follow-up.

Christmas Bazaar

Our Christmas Bazaar coordinators have begun planning and organizing this year’s annual event on Saturday, November 21. We need your help spreading the word and encouraging people to attend. We always enjoy hosting, working together, and welcoming visitors to shop, eat, and celebrate with us. Please invite your friends and family. Because many other Christmas events are happening in Transcona that day, your support is especially important.
