ACW: (Anglican Church Women)
meets at 1:15 pm on the 3rd Wednesday of each month (excluding July and August) downstairs. On Sunday, September 18, 2011 there was a celebration of the work of the W.A. and A.C.W. over the past 100 years.

Adult Education - Movie Review Night:
Movie night is alternating Friday evenings (excluding statutory holidays) excluding July/August & Christmas season. There is always good conversation about the themes of each movie as well as snacks and fellowship (and sometimes a little movie trivia)!  At Rev. Kennedy's residence; contact office (204-222-1942) to confirm dates.  We gather at 6:30 & movie begins about 7; we'll have a few munchies and the coffee pot will be on - come view movies in a "new light"!

Transcona Food Bank:
1st & 3rd Thursday each month (United Church). You can bring your contributions any Sunday and our volunteers will deliver them. Non-perishable goods are most useful; cash contributions are always welcome.

Sunday School:
Classes start mid September & run till early June, new students are always welcome. We are looking for volunteers to assist with classes; if you are able to help, please contact Rowena.

Men's Fellowship:
Held the last Saturday of the month -
excluding June, July, August & December (Next one is April 26 th, 2014. Breakfast at 9:00 am - Contact Stephen if you are interested in participating (sign up sheet on bulletin board at church).

Confirmation Classes:
Anyone wishing to participate should check with the church (204-222-1942) or the Rector to confirm schedule or contact the church office for further information.

Park Manor:
We could use more volunteers (es
pecially ANYONE who can sing!) for occasional relief at our monthly service. Service begins at 9:45 a.m. on the 2nd Wednesday of each month (duration, approximately 1 hour).  Help needed transporting residents starting about 9:30 am & again after the service. If you are interested, please contact Rector; if you would like to help, but need a ride, contact Pat.


We host our annual tea on the first Friday every June from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm. Helpers to be there about 1 pm to help set up trays of dainties (donations needed) and will need some assistance for about 1/2 hour after to clean up. See sign-up sheet on bulletin board and/or contact Pat if you can help.



St. George's Blessing of the Animals Services:

Usually 1st Sunday in October (Oct. 5th, 2014) at 4:00 pm - all pets welcome!

Remembrance Day:

Remembrance Day service is on Sunday, November 9th, 2014 at 10:30 am.

Annual Thelma Wynne Shower
On Sunday, February 16th, 2014 (following church service) our ACW will be hosting the annual Thelma Wynne shower. Gifts of new or gently used layette items are welcome, (unwrapped, please) Coffee and cookies will be served.

Lenten Series

St. George’s Anglican Church Lenten Study:

" Soup, Sandwich and Super Hero " A Lenten series on the spirituality of the Super Hero genre of entertainment. Beginning on Thursday 13th March, 5pm at TMUC, after a small supper we will look at different Super Heroes each week and discuss their spirituality, view of humanity and impact on our society.  Join us, it should be fun.

St. George's Ladies Dinner:
The intent is to have these dinners 2 to 3 times per year. For further information, contact Liz.

Vacation Bible School:
Was half days - from 9:00 am til noon - July 15th to 19th, 2013. The program is for children between the ages of 4 and 14 and will be held at TMUC for the most part. Contact 204-222-1331 for more details.

C.L.A.Y. Youth gathering, August 11-19, 2014 in Kamloops BC;
registration deadline March 31st, 2014 - contact Rev. Helen for information.

All Saints Day:

Our annual remembrance of those who have died will be on All Saint's Day, November 2nd, 2014 at 10:30 am!
