Sunday, October 4th, 2009, St. George's had a "Blessing of the Animals" service.

PERKINS: sheets of coupons are available at St.George's ... Perkins will donate 10% of your bill to our church.  Wednesday, July 28th,2010 Helen will be "hostess with the mostest" at the Henderson Hwy Perkins & that is where coupon can be used first.  After that, coupons can be used at ANY Perkins - coupons good until September 3rd, 2010.

Annual Garage Sale:  Saturday, August 7th, 2010 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at the church.

The Garden Centre:  Regent Park shopping Centre (701 Regent Avenue West). is usually open from roughly Mother's Day to Father's Day.  We need people to take on one of the many tasks to make this project successful.  Contact Derrick if you can help (222-4807).  2010 was our 22nd season and ran from Saturday, May 8th, 2010 until June 19th, 2010: bedding plants, hanging planters, perennials, vegetables, bagged soil, seeds & gift certificates were available.  Hours: Sat & Sun (8:30-6), Weekdays (10-7:30) ... weather & volunteer support permitting!

ACW:  (Anglican Church Women) meets the 3rd Wednesday of each month (excluding July and August) at 1:15 pm in the church hall.  For information, call Gwen (222-2912)

• Annual Thelma Wynne Shower - Usually held on the second Sunday each February (following church service) our ACW is hosting the annual Thelma Wynne shower.

St. George's Ladies Dinner:   The intent is to have these dinners 2 to 3 times per year.  For further information, call Liz @ 222-1610.  The inaugural dinner on March 11th, 2010 was extremely successful.

Bridge & Whist Luncheon: Spring & Fall (dates to be announced). Lunch at 11:30 am followed by card games.  For tickets ($12) or info., call B. Gustafson 256-2304 or C. Wells 222-9205.  Everyone Welcome.

Transcona Food Bank: 1st & 3rd Thursday each month (United Church). You can bring your contributions any Sunday and our volunteers will deliver them. Non-perishable goods are most useful; cash contributions are always welcome.

Garage Sale: On Saturday, August 7th we'll be having a garage sale on our parking lot (weather permitting!) - tables for rent $20 or you can donate items for us to sell.

Adult Study Group:  Thursday evenings at @ 6:30 pm - finished the end of April.  Email Helen to confirm details.

Men's Fellowship:  Usually held the last Saturday of the month (excluding July and August) - 8:30 am -> Breakfast at 9:00 am - at the church, downstairs - Contact Dan @ 204-866-3404 if you are interested in participating.

2008 Halloween Party - pot luck & party with games followed church service/Sunday school classes.

Park Manor:  We could use more volunteers for occasional relief at our monthly service.  Service begins at 10:00 a.m. on the 2nd Wednesday of each month (help needed transporting residents starting about 9:30 am & ANYONE who can sing!) (duration, approximately 1 hour).  If you are interested, please call Vicar at 222-1942; if you would like to help, but need a ride, contact Pat at 222-3836.

We host our annual tea on first Friday of June from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm.  Helpers to be there about 1 pm to help set up trays of dainties (donations needed for those!) and will need some assistance for about 1/2 hour after to clean up.   See sign-up sheet on bulletin board and/or contact Pat at 222-3836 if you can help.

Vacation Bible School: Last year attracted 40 children and was a great success, will be held again in conjunction with Transcona Memorial United Church - half days (9 to noon) this year.
It will be held the week of August 9th - 13th, 2010

Sunday School:   Classes have begun and new students are always welcome.   We are looking for volunteers.  If you are able to help, please contact Vicky Taylor.

Youth Confirmation Classes: Time and day of the week not yet determined - call the church office (222-1942) for further information.

Harvest Dinner:   Is scheduled for October 16th, 2010 at Park City West Community Centre (115 Sandford Fleming) - call the church office (222-1942) for tickets or further details.

Christmas Bazaar:  Is scheduled for Saturday November 13th, 2010 from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm featuring a lunch bar, baking & preserves, crafts & sewing ... (contact Dave or Norma 661-6008 for details on next year's Bazaar)
