Easter Bellringer Bulletin

ACW: (Anglican Church Women)

meets at 1:15 pm on the 3rd Wednesday of each month (excluding July and August) downstairs.

On Sunday, September 18, 2011 there was a celebration of the work of the W.A. and A.C.W. over the past 100 years.

Movie Reflection Night:
Movie reflection night resumed September 12th, 2014 on alternating Friday evenings (excluding statutory holidays and
excluding July/August & Christmas season.) Next movie night - October 9th, 2015. There is always good conversation about the themes of each movie as well as snacks and fellowship (and sometimes a little movie trivia)!  At Rev. Kennedy's residence; contact office (204-222-1942) to confirm dates.  We gather at 6:30 pm & movie begins about 7 - come view movies in a "new light"!

We will have a few munchies and the coffee pot will be on.

Transcona Food Bank:
1st & 3rd Thursday each month (United Church). You can bring your contributions any Sunday and our volunteers will deliver them. Non-perishable goods are most useful; cash contributions are always welcome.

Sunday School:
Classes start September 13th, 2015 & run until early June, new students are always welcome. We are looking for volunteers to assist with classes; if you are able to help, please contact It would be helpful if we could have a few more volunteers to assist in this.  If you are interested please see either Rev Helen or Penny.

Men's Fellowship:
Held the last Saturday of the month -
excluding June, July, August & December (Next one is October 31st , 2015 at __________________________. Breakfast at 9:30 am - Contact Stephen if you are interested in participating.

Confirmation Classes:
Anyone wishing to participate should check with the church (204-222-1942) or the Rector to confirm schedule or contact the church office for further information.

Our emerging youth group has come up with a list of dates and activities they would like to do.

If you want to be part of them, please save these dates.

  • 2nd October       -  Pickleball, Pizza and Pop at TMUC  6pm
  • 7th October       -  Bible Study at the church 7-9pm
  • 22st October     -  Corn Maze and Haunted House
  • 4th November    -  Musical Concert in Winnipeg
  • 18th November  -  Volunteer at Siloam Mission
  • 2nd December   -  Get ready for our Hamper Drive at the Church
  • 16th December  -  Carol Singing in the neighbourhood.

With all of these events, they are open to young people aged 12 - 18.

There is little or no cost for them.

As always, any volunteer help is appreciated (especially when we need to drive ).

Park Manor:
We could use more volunteers (es
pecially ANYONE who can sing!) for occasional relief at our monthly service. Service begins at 9:45 a.m. on the 2nd Wednesday of each month (duration, approximately 1 hour).  Help needed transporting residents starting about 9:30 am & again after the service. If you are interested, please contact Rector; if you would like to help, but need a ride, contact Pat.

At 2:00 pm on the first Friday in June we will be hosting a tea at Park Manor Personal Care Home (Redonda & Kildare) - donations of baking & assistance that afternoon much appreciated.  Contact St.George's office or phone 204-222-1942 if you can help.


St. George's Blessing of the Animals Services:

1st Sunday in October (Date: Oct. 4th, 2015) at 4:00 pm - all pets welcome!

Remembrance Day:

Remembrance Day service is on Sunday, November 8th, 2015 at 10:30 am.

Annual Thelma Wynne Shower
On Sunday, Mid February, 2016 (following church service) our ACW will be hosting the annual Thelma Wynne shower. Gifts of new or gently used layette items are welcome, (unwrapped, please) Coffee and cookies will be served.

Lenten Series

St. George’s Anglican Church Lenten Study:

Lenten Series beginning Thursday (February 18th, 2016) evening (for 5 weeks) at St. George's.  Meeting at 6:00 pm for Soup & Sandwich supper (provided) with study beginning at 6:30.  Each week is a different subject, so come whenever you can.  Join us, it should be fun.

Vacation Bible School: (Registration Form)
Vacation Bible School (for ages 3-14) was held in conjunction with Transcona Memorial United Church (TMUC). from August 10 to 14, 2015 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at St. George's 321 Pandora Avenue West . For more info on next year's VBS , call the Office at 204-222-1942.

All Saints Day:

Our annual remembrance of those who have died in the past year will be on All Saint's Day, November 1st, 2015 at 10:30 am!
