ACW: (Anglican Church Women)
meets at 1:00 pm on the 3rd Wednesday of each month (excluding July and August) at 1:15 pm upstairs. For information, contact Gwen. On Sunday, September 18, 2011 there was a celebration of the work of the W.A. and A.C.W. over the past 100 years.

Adult Education - Movie Review Night:
Will be at 7:00 pm on alternating friday evenings ... come view a variety of films & participate in interesting spirited analysis! Contact church office for details.

Proposed schedule for movie night for the next couple months

They will be hosted at 569 St Mary's Road.

We will gather at 6:30 and the movie will begin at 7 sharp.

We will have a few munchies and the coffee pot will be on.

Transcona Food Bank:
1st & 3rd Thursday each month (United Church). You can bring your contributions any Sunday and our volunteers will deliver them. Non-perishable goods are most useful; cash contributions are always welcome.

Sunday School:
Class registration started on September 11th, 2011, new students are always welcome. We are looking for volunteers. If you are able to help, please contact Vicky Taylor.

Men's Fellowship:
Held the last Saturday of the month downstairs at the church or Canad Inns on Regent Avenue - excluding June, July, August & December (Next one is February 25th, 2012) Breakfast at 9:00 am - Contact Derrick if you are interested in participating (sign up sheet on bulletin board at church).

Park Manor:
We could use more volunteers (especially singers) for occasional relief at our monthly service. Service begins at 9:45 a.m. on the 2nd Wednesday of each month.

(Help needed transporting residents starting about 9:30 am & ANYONE who can sing!) (duration, approximately 1 hour). If you are interested, please contact Vicar at 222-1942; if you would like to help, but need a ride, contact Pat.

We host our annual tea on first Friday of June from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm. Helpers to be there about 1 pm to help set up trays of dainties (donations needed for those!) and will need some assistance for about 1/2 hour after to clean up. See sign-up sheet on bulletin board and/or contact Pat if you can help.

Annual Thelma Wynne Shower
On the 4th of March, 2012 (following church service) our ACW hosts the annual Thelma Wynne shower. Gifts of new or gently used layette items are welcome, (unwrapped, please) Coffee and cookies will be served.

St. George's Easter Week Services:

Lenten Series 2012

St. George’s & Transcona Memorial United Church Lenten Study:

Join us at St. George’s for four sessions with Sylvia Jansen, Sommelier and Instructor as we learn about wine: its Biblical connections, the historical connections of wine and the church; how wine production related to migration patterns of people, and a look at the wine industry today – the spirituality of choice and the choices of commercialism. Time: 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesdays & Saturdays (Feb. 29, March 3, 7, and 10). There is no fee for the course; donation envelopes will be available. Wine tasting will be a component of the course, but is not required. (Wine tasting is limited to those 18 years of age and older). World Day of Prayer Friday, March 2nd, 2012 at TMUC

St. George's Ladies Dinner:
The intent is to have these dinners 2 to 3 times per year. For further information, contact Liz.

Bridge & Whist Luncheon: Spring & Fall.
Thursday, October 6th, 2011 - Lunch at 11:30 am followed by card games. For tickets ($12) or info., contact Barb or Charlotte. Everyone welcome! Postponed until further notice.

The Garden Centre:

Is in need of a manager

Regent Park shopping Centre (701 Regent Avenue West). is usually open from roughly Mother's Day to Father's Day. We need people to take on one of the many tasks to make this project successful. 2011 was our 23rd season and ran from Saturday, May 7th, 2011 until June 18th, 2011: bedding plants, hanging planters, perennials, vegetables, bagged soil, seeds & gift certificates were available.

Hours: Sat & Sun (8:30-6), Weekdays (10-7:30) ... weather & volunteer support permitting!

PARK MANOR: ANNUAL TEA

Vacation Bible School:
Is held in conjunction with Transcona Memorial United Church. Is half days - from 9:00 am til noon - during the last week of July. The program is for children between the ages of 5 and 15.

Christmas Bazaar:
Is on the 3rd Saturday of November from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm featuring a lunch bar, baking & preserves, crafts & sewing ... (contact Alison, Penny or Doris for details on Bazaar)

Ash Wednesday:

7:00pm - Imposition of Ashes

St. George's Blessing of the Animals Services:

Is held the first Sunday in October @ 4:00 pm

 

St. George's Christmas Services:

10:30 am	-	1st Sunday of December	-	Christmas Carols & Lessons
6:30 pm	-	1st Sunday of December	-	Bethlehem Walk, from St. George's to Transcona United . . . . singing the Carols learned that morning :-)
10:30 am	-	2nd Sunday of December	-	Sunday School Children's Advent Service . . . . Hot Dog lunch to follow.
